Place card designs for Eco Studio Fellini

Place cards for Mother’s Day lunch with Somerset College mothers.

How did you spend your Mother’s Day? Spoiling your mother or being spoilt yourself, I hope. For the Mothers of Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, they attended a delicious lunch at the beautiful Eco Studio Fellini. This venue is a well known wedding venue in Mudgeeraba, and what a great place it is. The gardens are stunning with old buildings, a nice tea house where the receptions are held, a small lake to take your afternoon stroll around and a giant chess set. All the things one needs at a wedding. oh, and plenty of lawn for that competitive game of crochet!

Although I am not a mother of Somerset college, I had the privilege of being asked to design the place cards to be used a the event. What a great opportunity to pitch my designs to the venue, in hope they will pass on my details to many a bride in need of beautifully designed invites. I set about designing the place cards based around a vintage theme and a bridal approach with the florals and fauna. I decided to include five designs as it would add more interest to the 150 settings which would be needed.

I loved the outcome. My only regret is that I didn’t get more printed and keep a stash for myself! Next time! The cards were beautiful, the brown vintage look complimented the hessian table runners and the doyle print fitted in with the lace used around the venue. They were the perfect accompaniment to the rest of the table design, and small sections of my designs were again featured on the menu’s.

In addition to showcasing my work through the place cards, I also managed to secure a little table where I sold many items. I was pleased with the day, and hope that many mother’s came away enjoying their purchases and will think of me in the future when needing that special gift to give. All in all, it was a successful day for iampoppy, and I’ve come away with the chance to put forward my sample pieces to be included in the welcome packs for all the brides signing up with this gorgeous venue. I cannot wait to get started, and hopefully this new venture will see me with a new range of wedding stationary to add to my collection.
