iampoppy Designs is run by Poppy, a graphic design – illustrator, who works from her home studio in the sunny surf town of Currumbin, Australia.
With a love of drawing since she can remember, Poppy went on to study Illustration at the University of Plymouth, completing her BA Hons with the ‘Student of the Year’ prize in 2006.
She loves to travel, and has lived and visited in many different countries throughout her life. Many of her illustrations come from these experiences and she especially loves capturing local festivals and celebrations. Past adventures have taken her throughout Europe from France down to Morocco, across throughout Asia and even Thailand to live. All these experiences gave her a love of capturing culinary delights, wildlife, landscapes and patterns.
During the COVID lockdown of 2020, iampoppy Designs saw a shift in her artworks, transitioning from wedding stationery to commissions, illustration projects and evolving into live event painting.
Her favourite projects now focus around capturing peoples love stories in paint through her live paintings, creating quick guest portraits and also private illustration commissions.
You can see Poppy’s designs on various products such as baby blankets, venue brochures and signs, alphabet cards and puzzles and more.
Let’s save the polar bears!
iampoppy Designs strives to be environmentally friendly in everything she does.
She has always had a connection with nature and strives to create a better place for her children to thrive. It is this passion which sees her using as much recycled paper as possible, environmentally friendly paints and non animal hair brushes.
All cards and prints are printed on 100% post consumer waste recycled paper, packaged along with recycled envelopes, with all products being wrapped in biodegradable cellophane.
If we all do our bit, we can keep our planet beautiful.
Fun fact!
She is extremely frightened of anything sticky, known as Pittakionophobia, it is the irrational fear of stickers.
If you’re in need of any design work, commissioned pieces or just want to say hello, I would love to hear from you.
