Balancing life as a busy Wedding Painter and Mum
Today, I want to share with you my journey as a live wedding painter and a proud mum of active kiddos. Balancing a busy professional life with the demands of motherhood can be quite a juggling act, but with a splash of creativity and a whole lot of love, it’s all possible.
As a live wedding painter, I have the incredible opportunity to capture the magic of love on canvas while being surrounded by the beauty of celebrations. It’s a dream job that allows me to express my artistry in real time, creating cherished keepsakes for couples to treasure forever. However, the hustle and bustle of wedding season can sometimes clash with the whirlwind of my children’s activities.
My little ones are involved in a myriad of sports and hobbies, from soccer to cheerleading, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Watching them grow and excel in their passions brings me immeasurable joy. And to add a sprinkle of excitement to the mix, I’m also a cheerleading enthusiast! Yes, you heard that right – this mama knows how to throw another human in the air with the best of them.
So, how do I manage to navigate these two vibrant worlds? Well, it’s all about finding a rhythm that works for us. I’ve come to embrace the chaos and find beauty in the unpredictability of it all. Here are a few tips that have helped me strike a harmonious balance:
Embracing Flexibility: Life as a live wedding painter means my schedule can be quite erratic. Flexibility is key, and I’ve learned to adapt to the ebb and flow of my professional commitments while ensuring I’m present for my children’s milestones and events.
Making Time for Creativity: As an artist, creativity is my lifeblood. Whether it’s stealing moments in my home studio or sketching during my kids’ practices, I find ways to keep the creative flame alive. Sometimes, inspiration strikes in the most unexpected places!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: I’m incredibly fortunate to have great support in the business, whether it will be Alex, our amazing admin assistant, Ibaia and Maria, my other painters or the accountant, marketing team, and coach. Being able to outsource and have other brains contributing, means the pressure of running a business is not solely on my shoulders, allowing me more time to be present with the family.
Cherishing Moments of Stillness: Amidst the whirlwind of activity, it’s important to carve out moments of tranquility. Whether it’s savoring a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or stealing away for a peaceful walk on the beach, these pockets of stillness rejuvenate the soul.
Leading by Example: My love for art and creativity has undoubtedly rubbed off on my children. I encourage them to express themselves through various artistic mediums, fostering a home environment that celebrates imagination and self-expression.
