Live Wedding Painting

Created live on your wedding day, capturing your moment as it happens, so you can relive it every time you see it.

How it works

  • Choose your artwork style and package
Select acrylic or watercolour and your preferred moment. We will have a consult prior to the day to chat through any ideas you have.
  • I arrive and set up before your ceremony or reception
I arrive an hour before your chosen moment to set up. I will record your ceremony/reception to ensure I don’t miss the ‘moment’. I will liaise with your photographer to ensure it is smooth process.
  • Your painting is created live on the day
Guests can watch it develop throughout the event. I move with the guests, ensuring they have a clear view of the painting throughout the event. We do a reveal towards the end of the event, so you can see the painting at its ‘end of day’ stage.
  • Final details are completed and the artwork is finished
I work on your painting back in my studio, and once complete, have it custom framed and delivered to you to enjoy for years to come.

Kind words from clients

Got Questions?

What do you paint with?

I paint in either watercolour on archival quality watercolour paper or acrylic on hand crafted canvas.

How big are the paintings?

I have three main sizes I work in. The basic at 40x50cm, the classic at 50x60cm and the Imperial at 64x80cm. I find these are great size options, however if there is a particular size or ratio you would prefer, we can always chat about those options. All my canvases are hand made to order, so the possibilities are endless!

How long will the painting take to complete?

It depends on the canvas size, but an average would be about 12 hours. Of course, I’m not at your wedding for this long, and so I take it home to edit and complete. I do make sure that I have painted the couple before I head off, and the paintings are finished to a level where you might not even know they weren’t complete!

When do you arrive to set up?

I arrive at your venue an hour or before your ceremony, if painting the ceremony. If painting the first dance, I arrive around canapé time, which allows me a few hours of painting time to get the background in.

Can you paint certain people I want in the painting?

Absolutely! I can paint just the couple, add the bridal party, add the guests. I can even add people who are not at your wedding, such as family overseas or deceased loved ones.

What moment will you paint?

I paint whatever moment you prefer. I can paint the vows, exchanging of rings, your first kiss, walking back down the aisle, your first dance or anything you would like!

If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to reach out, I’m happy to discuss your options and create the best plan for you and your day!

Not sure what style of painting to choose?

Have a look at the chart below for all the features of each painting style. Still not sure? I’m happy to have a chat and advise on the best medium for your moment.

Live painter - Poppy Ridsdill

Meet the Artist!

I’m Poppy, the artist behind the Live wedding paintings.

I love painting at weddings. It’s not just the happy atmosphere, the gorgeous venues or stunning styling, but also being part of such a personal day where they lay out their journey in a raw, honest and heartfelt way. Being able to capture that is so special, and I never get tired of it!
I love that I get to create a painting that reflects all the energy and emotion of the day, and I feel incredibly honoured to contribute to such a special occasion. Not to mention all the praise I get from guests!! yes… what’s not to love!

As a mum of two, balancing life’s joys and challenges, I find painting to be my creative outlet and a way to stay connected to what I love. Originally from England, I’ve always been drawn to adventure and new experiences, whether it’s through traveling, walking along the beach, or keeping fit with cheerleading and workouts.

And of course, nothing beats winding down with an Aperol Spritz on a warm sunny day!
